MOB JUSTICE INCIDENT IN TEMBISA

On Thursday, 24 May 2023 at about 08:00 the Tembisa police were called to a scene of murder in front of house 802 Hospitalview, RTJ Namane Street, Tembisa where a 42 year old man was fatally assaulted.

According to an eyewitness, the deceased was seen ushered by a group of people who said they were patrollers and were accusing him of cable theft.

“When the police arrived, the man was already certified dead by the paramedics and his family from Moriting Section was also at the scene.” said Sergeant Patricia Mgijima the spokesperson of Tembisa SAPS.

The Acting Tembisa Station Commander Colonel Elite Mabitsela strongly denounced the acts of mob justice.

“The community is strongly reprimanded from taking the law into their own hands, killing another person by another, remains a crime in South Africa. People must stop incriminating themselves. The police still encourage the community to apprehend the suspect with the suspected stolen property, hand over to the police and let the justice take it’s course” warned Mabitsela.
