MORE THAN 100 NEW POLICE CONSTABLES FOR EKURHULENI POLICE
Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole, Senior Officers, Members from Community Policing Forum and Rabie Ridge Ward 80 Councillor Mr Pagadi gathered at Rabie Ridge Sports ground on Monday, 16 August, to welcome new Constables from SAPS training College.
One hundred and eighteen (118) Police Officers will be added in Ekurhuleni Police to serve and protect the citizens of South Africa. Some of the police stations that will benefit from the additional man power include Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Tembisa, Tembisa South, Edenvale and Olifantsfontein.
Captain Sibanyoni from Employee Health and Wellness encouraged the members to take care of themselves and avoid depression. She further encouraged them to know how to manage their salaries.
The District Commissioner, Major General Anna Sithole gave the new recruits a Scripture from Proverbs 9, verse 10 in the Bible to encourage them to “Fear the Lord since being a Police Officer is a calling.”
Thousands of applications were received but only few were chosen to serve the Community of Ekurhuleni. The District Commissioner further encouraged the members not to be reluctant to attend courses in order to develop themselves, to work very hard and to respect their Commanders.
Rabie Ridge SAPS Gender Based Violence Brigades also gave their support to the event.
