MURDER SUSPECT FINALLY LOCATED IN WINTERVELDT

Serious Violence Detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS have yesterday, 25 July 2022, caught one of the wanted murder suspects in Winterveldt, Northwest of Pretoria.

“The 36-year-old was being sought in connection with the January murder of William Manana,30, whom is alleged to have been shot four times on the upper body.” said Captain Ben Matimulane, the spokesperson of Ivory Park SAPS.

“It is not yet clear what the bone of contention between the suspect and the deceased was. The police are confident that this will be known during the course of the trial. They were however familiar with each other. Shortly after the murder the suspect left Ivory Park for what has been established as his real home in Winterveldt. The firearm used in the murder and the one he is alleged to have taken from the victim are nowhere to be found” Matimulane said.

Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, has complimented his officers for not losing interest and focus in old cases as this will send a clear message that we as the Ivory Park SAPS follow the leads, and go wherever these leads take us to.

“We are glad that the suspect has been located and secured into our lawful custody, thus ensuring he accounts to what had happened to the victim and for the victim’s family to get the much deserved closure they so need,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.

The suspect will face a charge of murder and is due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
