Eskom says that the power system is tight this morning. Unplanned outages or breakdowns were at 13 867Mw at 06:00. Should we lose some generation units during the day. Emergency reserves will be used and Loadshedding may be implemented in the evening.

The power system is vulnerable and volatile with an ageing fleet and requires high maintenance. Getting back to stability will take some time and households are requested to reduce their demand.
