NON COMPLIANT SPAZA SHOPS CLOSED IN TEMBISA
Ekurhuleni Municipality Executive Mayor, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has launched a joint multidisciplinary operation in Tembisa, targeting by-law enforcement and criminal activities.
Xhakaza emphasized that this is the beginning of ongoing efforts to combat crime and ensure safer communities. The operation made rounds across Tembisa throughout the day on Wednesday, 11 September 2024.
During the operation, 22 undocumented individuals were arrested, some spaza shops were closed and unlabelled products were confiscated with the help of Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD).
Warnings were also issued to spaza shops encroaching on municipal spaces.
