CATCH IVORY PARK’S OWN ON SHOWMAX
Film and Drama is a vibrant part of the entertainment scene in many communities. Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park and Rabie Ridge (KAE) are no exception. There is a wealth of talent in the area that deserves recognition.
One of the rising stars in the entertainment industry is Lucky Nhanhla Kunene. Kunene is currently starring in a new drama series called “Adulting,” which follows the parallel lives of four varsity friends as they navigate the ups and downs of life, love, and everything in between.
Kunene plays the role of Eric, a hot-headed bad boy and kasi gintsa who is an incredible father to his daughter, whom he fondly calls “Mosquito.”
Eric’s journey in the show is a tumultuous one. After getting his high school sweetheart pregnant and dropping out of varsity, he turns to carjacking as a means to an end.
The show explores the dynamics of friendship and how the bonds between these four friends hold them together even as their paths diverge.
“Adulting” is an eight-part 18SN drama and is the first Showmax Original from Tshedza Pictures, the production company behind telenovela “The River” and the SAFTA Best TV Drama winner “The Republic.” However, “Adulting” is his most significant role to date, and he is sure to impress viewers with his performance.
Kunene did his schooling at Eqinisweni Secondary School in Ivory Park, making him a homegrown talent that the KAE community can be proud of. He is an example of the kind of talent that exists in our community and the potential that can be unlocked with the right opportunities.
As a community, we should support and celebrate local talent like Nhanhla Lucky Kunene. By doing so, we create a platform for other aspiring artists to showcase their talent and pursue their dreams.
Kunene’s role in “Adulting” is a standout performance. Tune in to Showmax every Monday to catch the latest episode of this exciting drama.
