OPERATION BASADI READY TO TURN TEMBISA AROUND

In honour of Women’s Month. Women law enforcement official’s boots hit the ground running in Tembisa on Thursday, 26 August 2021, to conduct an operation.

Ekurhuleni SAPS Women Law Enforcers led by Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole, members from Explosives, SANDF, EMPD, Members from Gauteng Province SAPS, Community Policing Forum and other stakeholders paraded at Phumlani Mall at 08:00 in the morning to conduct road blocks, stop and searches, foot patrolling and awareness to encourage females not to withdraw Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases.

The Women officials also donated items to an orphanage in Difateng Section, Tembisa as the saying goes that blessed is the hand that gives than the one that receives.

Male members also attended the event to give their support to the women law enforcers especially in conducting stop and search.

217 suspects under the leadership of Ekurhuleni District Detective Colonel Sefoloshe had already been arrested on Wednesday night during Basadi Tracing Operations for general crimes including Gender Based Violence Cases.

The Tembisa Basadi Operation was also successful in closing down 8 illegal operations in Tembisa and alcohol was confiscated.
