The South African Police Service (SAPS) led by Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela conducted Operation O Kae Molao in Kaalfontein, Ebony Park and Ivory Park on Saturday, 20 August 2022.
Operation O Kae Molao seeks to stem the state’s authority by conducting road blocks. The SAPS conducted a road block at the Corner of Boshoff Road and Republic Road.
Operations included stop and searches, vehicle check points, visits to taverns as well as road block duties. In conjunction with SAPS other law enforcement agencies included Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD), Home Affairs and other law enforcement agencies.
Suspects arrested in the Ivory Park Policing Precinct included:
- Thirty Two (32) for being in the country illegally.
- Twenty Eight (28) for driving their vehicles whilst under the influence of alcohol.
- One (1) for possession of unlicensed firearm with 7 ammunition.
- Three (3) vehicles impounded.
- Three (3) illegal shebeens shutdown.
- Seven (7) for dealing and possession of drugs.
Other suspects were nabbed for crimes such as rape, assault, House breaking and theft, murder, robbery with weapon other than a firearm, Fraud, sexual assault, Assault with intent to cause grivious bodily harm, domestic violence issues, malicious damage to property, exceeding speed limits, failing to take Police instructions, interference and resisting arrest, bribery, conspiracy to commit murder, trespassing and possession of stolen property.
