Daveyton and Tembisa South SAPS: Efforts to curb the presence of different crimes in communities continue to produce successful outcomes following joint operations executed by Ekurhuleni SAPS Members, EMPD, Gauteng Traffic, CPF, Home Affairs and other stakeholders in both policing areas today.
The following Successes were achieved in Daveyton and Tembisa South areas under the leadership of the District Commissioner, Major
General Anna Sithole :
- Two (2) suspects were found in possession of illegal Firearms, a Revolver and a Norinco Pistol with magazine and 9 ammunitions,
- One (1) suspect arrested for dealing in Drugs,
- Two (2) for possession of drugs – Rock, crystal meth, Mandrax and dagga were seized from the suspects,
- One hundred and two (102) Traffic Fines issued to the motorists valued at R60 700,
- Twelve (12) liquor outlets were shut down
- Twelve (12) suspects were nabbed for dealing in Liquor without licences – more liquor was seized from the suspects
- Three (3 ) suspects for second hand goods dealers for non compliance .
- Two (2) for rape cases,
- Five (5) for assault which involved domestic violence issues,
- Eight (8) for assault with intent to cause grivious bodily harm and
- Two (2) for Malicious damage to Property.
Other Successes were made during Detectives suspects’s tracing Operation Okae Molao in the whole of the District policing precincts from 2022-08-10 at night to 2022-08-11 in the early hours of morning wherein 197 were brought to book .
Amongst the suspects, 117 of them committed contact Crimes of which 50 were arrested for assault with intent to cause grivious bodily harm and 25 for gender based violence.
Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole appreciated the efforts made by the teams which showed impact in Communities in the fight against crime in the District.
