Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School, in Kaalfontein is the best performing school in the areas of Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park and surrounding areas for the year 2019.

The School obtained a 97,3% Matric Pass rate. This compares to the 76,9% the school received in 2018. Out of 112 students who wrote their National Senior Certificate, a total of 109 passed.

Penelopele Oracle Secondary School which is a township School fared better than the so called ‘Model C’ school, Midrand High School which obtained 96,3%. The school also did better than Blue Hills College (91,8%) which is a Public Private School.

Oracle is a Quintile 3 school while Midrand High is a Quintile 5 school. Under the Department of Education system, schools are categorised into 5 groups (quintiles) based on the relative wealth of their surrounding communities. Schools in the poorest communities are classified as Quintile 1 and schools serving the wealthiest communities are classified as Quintile 5. Generally, Schools in higher Quintiles are expected to perform better as their better resourced than schools in townships.

The worst performing school is Allandridge Secondary School, in Rabie Ridge with 71%. Out of 207 who wrote the Matric paper only 147 achieved.

Schools in KAE and surrounding areas (Ivory Park & Rabie Ridge) averaged a Matric pass rate of 85,1%.
