PHILLYS GAMES – ISUKILE!

Only Tembisans know the power of the two words-Philly’s Games. The off season tournament is set to kick on the Day of Reconciliation ,16th of December 2019 and the fixture is out!

The Philly’s Games, fondly known as Maphillys Games were established in 1992. The birth of the Games bought a peaceful ending to political fights between 2 sections in Tembisa.

The 13 day tournament (from 16-30 December 2019) attracts a huge crowd of more than 10 000 spectators daily and is broadcast on Supersport 4, channel 204 on DStv.

“The Philly’s Games is an unforgettable experience for the community, more especially to those who can’t afford to go to the stadiums to watch their favorite football stars but can enjoy the pleasure of watching them play at their own backyard” reads the Philly’s Games website.

This year will be the 27th edition of the games and promises to be exciting as ever. From the 16th until the 18th of December will be the knock out rounds which will be played Ema Seven.

Last year the games were controversially won by a team from Alexandra, Amandla FC. The prize money was a whooping R200 000,00. We are crossing fingers a team from ‘Mambisa’ wins this year and the trophy stays here.
