Effective today, 11 January 2021, Pikitup is no longer collecting the old dustbins and plastic bags.
In Ebony Park, a lot of waste was left behind by Pikitup employees on Monday. The City of Johannesburg Municipality employees advised confused residents that only the new 240l bins on wheels are eligible for collection.
The new bins were distributed by the municipality in the latter part of last year. Residents are urged to visit the Ivory Park Lord Khanyile Hall or Ebony Park Pay Point with Water Bill and House owner’s ID to receive the new bin.
Remember it is a punishable crime to dump illegally. If you witness any illegal dumping report it to 080 872 3342.
