POLICE FOCUS ON TEMBISA HOSTEL

The law enforcement agencies in Gauteng under the Command of Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Elias Mawela were out in numbers to deal with any criminal activities and ensure that the citizens are safe and protected as they conducted a night Operation with the main focus being at hostels on Tuesday, 06 June 2023.

“The operation include several actions such as hostel raiding, stop and searches at hot spots, liquor compliance inspections and tracing of wanted suspects by the detect,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, Gauteng SAPS Spokesperson.

The operation started at 22:00 and two (2) stolen trailers were recovered, an unlicensed firearm with ammunition, dangerous weapons and copper cable were seized at Ehlazeni hostel in Tembisa.

Ehlanzeni hostel has been a crime hotspot in the recent past. Numerous and murders shootings have been reported in the area in the past month.
