POLICE INVESTIGATING DOUBLE MURDER IN OLIFANTSFONTEIN

On Saturday, 25 September 2021 at about 09:30 Olifantsfontein Police received a complaint of double murder at an open veld off R25 road just after ERWAT.

“On arrival police found two males estimated to be 30-35 years old ,inside a silver grey Toyota Corolla sedan, the driver had a gunshot on the head while the passenger had a gunshot on the chest.”

“Both men were certified dead at the scene. The vehicle was circulated and it belonged to a Mr Moshwana of Klipfontein, Midrand. The driver had a foreign drivers licence in his possession but it does not state the age. All their belongings including the cellphones, wallets and money were still in their pockets.” said Constable Patricia Mgijima, who is in the Communications Office of the SAPS.

“Asking the people who ride the quad bikes in the area, they confirmed to know the vehicle as the owner always come in that open veld to do rituals with different people. The motive for the killing is yet unknown and no suspects arrested at the moment and police investigation continues. Both bodies were ferried to Germiston government mortuary.” added Mgijima.

Police sternly reprimand the community to attend the churches in these secluded areas. Police further ask anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects in this matter to contact the Olifantsfontein Police.
