RESIDENTS WARNED OF THUGS

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) would like to issue a warning to residents to be aware of thugs masquerading as City Power and Johannesburg Water officials using their uniform and Identity cards to gain access to resident’s homes to collect money and commit crimes.

The City’s Officials DO NOT come to customers homes requesting any form of payment for it’s services. Residents are urged to make payments only at CoJ walk in centers and customer care offices and insists on getting receipts.

Residents are further encouraged to verify the identity of City Power and Joburg Water officials by demanding to see their identity cards and ask for a job care with work order number for the work they purport to be doing.
