Ivory Park Police have arrested a 29 year-old man for the alleged murder of a 39 year-old male in Ebony Park. The suspect is accused of fatally stabbing the victim after a group fight on Monday, 6 April 2020 and Day 11 of the National Lockdown.
The fight, and the subsequent death of one of the fighters, was the culmination of a domestic related argument between two men amid accusations that the other was secretly having an affair with another man’s wife.
Some time on Monday, the aggrieved man in the company of four other people, visited the address in Ebony Park. During the visit, the aggrieved man demanded money from the man he accuses of having an affair with his wife, claiming that his wife gave him his money, which she stole from their home.
Their meeting ended up in an argument during which knives were taken out. The visitors fled the scene and, unfortunately the deceased fell to the ground. It was at this time that he was caught up with and stabbed on the upper body and succumbed to the injuries inflicted.
Another man was also stabbed and was later taken to hospital. He has since been discharged. The suspect in the matter is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to answer to murder and attempted murder charges.
