SERVICE DELIVERY OVERSIGHT BY MMC IN IVORY PARK

On Tuesday, 20 October 2020, the MMC for Economic Development in the City of Johannesburg, Clr Lloyd Phillips went on a service delivery oversight visit in Ivory Park.

The main aim of the visit was to identify and address long overdue service delivery issues in our community. Clr Phillips engaged in a full-bodied discussion with the representatives from the relevant Departments, Entities and Stakeholders.

These included the Departments of Social Development and Housing, Joburg Water, Sports and Recreation, City Parks, Johannesburg Roads Agency, Pikitup and JMPD.

The re-occurring and persistent challenges faced by Ward 78 and 79 were presented by the relevant representatives and a way forward was discussed together with possible solutions.

The service delivery concerns identified in our area included illegal land invasions, unhygienic living conditions, constant sewer blockages, illegal dumping of waste, informal trader stalls and the vandalism of the Ivory Park Stadium.
