SHAUNE MOGAILE RETURNS TO ACTION AMID LEGAL BATTLE

In his first appearance of the year, Sekhukhune United’s winger, Shaune Mogaila, made a significant impact during their 4-2 victory over AmaZulu at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Wednesday, 19 February 2025.
Mogaila made his first appearance of the year. Despite his return to the pitch, Mogaila remains embroiled in a serious legal battle following a fatal car accident in October 2024.
The footballer is currently out on R20,000 bail and faces charges of culpable homicide, reckless and negligent driving, and fleeing the scene. The accident which occurred in Tembisa tragically claimed the life of a nine-year-old girl, with two others sustaining serious injuries.

Reports indicate that Mogaila initially fled the scene but later turned himself in to the Rabie Ridge Police Station. Investigators also allegedly found alcohol and suspected drugs in his vehicle.

While Mogaila’s return to the field is notable, his future both in football and legally remains uncertain as the case continues.
Mogaila, had been absent from the squad due to ongoing legal proceedings related to the case.
His next court appearance is scheduled for 19 May 2025, where he is expected to answer to these charges.
