SHORT-TERM CONTRACT POSITIONS: POINTSMEN WANTED

The City of Johannesburg is looking for pointsmen to direct traffic across the City for a period not exceeding 12 months.

Branch: Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD): Regional Operations
Designation: Pointsmen
Remuneration: R110,88 per hour (no benefits)
Location: Various Regions

Minimum Requirements:
Grade 10 (NQF Level 2) and No Criminal Record

Reference: STC 002/2025

Primary Function:
To patrol an area as assigned for the enforcement of general law and order in terms of
powers conferred upon a Peace Officer in terms of Government Notice R159 dated 02
February 1979 as amended, in particular the prevention of crimes in terms of the
Criminal Procedure Act 51 of 1977 as well as other legislations (i.e. National Road
Traffic Act, CoJ By-laws).
