It has been 18 hours since Kaalfontein, Ebony Park and Ivory Park had an emergency water shutdown. A 700 mm pipe burst at the President Park reservoir yesterday afternoon. Expected time of restoration was this morning at 7:00 but due to the nature of the problem this is now unknown.
Johannesburg Water is unable to adequately excavate the pipe area properly and have requested an excavator, which will is currently on site.
As per KAE News telephonic conversation with the Area Operations Manager, a total of 10 roaming trucks are at the water filling station and are on the way to be deployed to the following areas:
