SUSPECT ARRESTED IN KEMPTON PARK
A suspect has been arrested in Kempton Park on charges of armed robbery, attempted murder and possession of hijacked motor vehicle.
Yesterday morning of the 2nd of October 2019, members of SAPS received information of a Cash In Transit in progress at Brentwood Park Pick and Pay in Kempton Park.
The members immediately responded and on arrival found the suspect’s vehicle on the scene. Witnesses pointed the direction in which the suspects left on foot.
The cops chased and saw one suspect jumping walls and followed him on foot. Suspect was cornered and arrested.
It was later found that the suspect was wanted on two cases of Possession of an Unlicenced Firearm – 2019 and Possession of a Hijacked Car 2018 case.
The white Opel Corsa Utility vehicle found on the scene used by the suspects was also identified as Hijacked in September as per case reported in Linden where a victim was shot and killed. The cellphone of the victim was found in the vehicle.
Information received points to 5 suspects involved in the Cash In Transit with 2 vehicles to be used. Which is the Opel utility and a white Toyota Corolla. The suspects on the run were also involved in a double CIT in Atlas Rd and they are out on bail.
