On Monday, 16 May 2022, at about 20:00 members of Rabie Ridge SAPS Sector Policing were patrolling in Kanana ext 4 next to ZCC Church when they noticed a white Nissan Almera with Reg No JY 24 XT GP pulling away in a high speed.
“Suddenly an African male told them he was robbed of his cellphone by the occupants of the white Nissan Almera at gunpoint.” said Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi.
“The members gave chase untill Umthambeka Section,Tembisa. The occupants climbed out and ran in different directions. Two suspects were arrested and found In possession of Toy gun and cellphones in their vehicle. No injuries sustained and both suspects aged 28 and 25 years old respectively were detained for possession of dangerous weapon.” said Moremi.
One suspect managed to run away. Investigations will continue to determine weather the suspects are not linked with any other crimes committed around Kanana, Phomolong and Mayibuye area.
Community members are encouraged to come forward if they were victim’s of Robbery around the said area.
