Tembisa South Social Crime Prevention, EMPD, Department of Education, Prasa, Youth Desk Crime Prevention, as well as Community Safety dedicated 67 minutes for Mandela Day at Tshepang Orphanage Home and at Siyazigabisa Home of Hope were they donated clothes to the children in need as a way of giving back to the community.
“The purpose of the event is to bring back the joy to the disadvantaged children by sharing love and comfort as a celebration of Mandela Day. It was also used as an opportunity to remind the community about the Gender Based Violence which leaves the young ones vulnerable most of the time”, said the Tembisa South SAPS Spokesperson, Constable Bridget Mavuso.
The community of Vusimuzi appreciated the clothes and also did a soup kitchen for the nearby residents of Vusimuzi.
Siyazigabisa Home of Hope appreciated the police stations from: Katlegong, Thokoza, Mophet View,Bedford, Mayerton,Provincial Office as well as the Junior Commissioners for giving Tembisa South such support. Both Orphanage homes are grateful for the donations provided to them.
“The community is urged to bring back the saying: Your Child is my Child by looking after those who are not theirs by birth as we raise the nation,” concluded Constable Mavuso.
