Detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS are hard at work, trying to establish if the three men who were arrested in the early hours of Monday, 13 June 2022, for alleged robbery may be involved in similar incidents in the area.
“The three men, aged 22, 32 and 33 were arrested by the crime prevention team from Ivory Park after they were pointed out by one of the victim they allegedly robbed in Allandale hours before. The three, who are all from Rabie Ridge, were driving in a white Volkswagen sedan” said Captain Ben Matimulane, the spokesperson of the Ivory Park SAPS:
“The three allegedly robbed the ladies who were waiting for an e-hailing cab to take them to one of the so called ‘Lifestyles’ in the area. Apparently the robbers also went to the same place after the commission of the robbery and that was were one of the victims saw them. A toy gun was found in the vehicle.” Matimulane added.
Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, said: “I have instructed my colleagues to leave no stone unturned since we have had the continuous incidents of robberies committed by men driving in a white sedan.
The men’s profiles and backgrounds will be properly checked and this doesn’t rule out the possibility of additional charges should a link be established, added Brigadier Ngcobo.

The three are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday to face a charge of armed robbery.
