THREE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS has welcomed the arrest of three men for possession of suspected stolen properties last night, Wednesday, 25 May 2022.
The three (3) were arrested at different places within the Ivory Park policing precincts during intense investigations by the local detectives as they followed up on the already opened cases.
The properties found included a Tshwane Metro Police Department’s bullet resistant vest.
A 27 year old has been arrested and has been charged for illegally possessing the vest and for impersonating a police officer.
Witnesses came forward and made written statements to the effect that this man, while in the presence of some other persons, was seen mugging people while wearing this vest.
The second suspects were arrested for possession of a generator and a cellphone. Those that have sold the latter two these items have also been arrested for robbery and business buglary.
Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, said: “It is satisfying that in two of the cases both the alleged transgressors and the buyer have been arrested. It goes without saying that people buying stolen property are creating a flourishing environment for the criminals to continue with their wayward ways”.
The three will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charges against them.
Brigadier Brigadier Ngcobo further said that the detectives have done an excellent work during their tracing edition.
