THREE TEMBISA MEN ARRESTED FOR TWO ROBBERIES

THREE men suspected of two house robberies in Ivory Park’s Extension 11 have been arrested in the early hours of Monday at their residential places in Tembisa.

The three suspects are alleged to have committed two house robberies on Thursday and Friday nights at. During the first robbery one male family member was shot after he attempted to resist the robbers, and a total of six cellphones were taken during the robberies.

A day or so later one of the suspects was seen by one of the victims selling cellphone at the busy Swazi Inn Informal market, which spans both Ivory Park and Tembisa. He did what the police officers advised him to do under those circumstances. Immediately after informing the investigating officers from the Ekurhuleni District Trio Task Team, the information was followed and the suspect, and the two others he was with, was arrested at Temong Section, Tembisa.

Not only did the police manage to arrest the three men, whose ages range from 29 to 32, vital evidence that will be valuable, was gathered as well.

The station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, welcomed the arrests, expressing confidence that this may put a dent on other robberies in the area. “The fact that the three were arrested for two house robberies which took place on two consecutive nights clearly shows we were still in line to experience more house robberies, and that the only thing that can put a stop to this is arrest,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.

The three are expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court sometime this week to answer to charges levelled against them.
