TRANSFORMERS OVERLOADING IN IVORY, EBONY, KAALFONTEIN AND TSWELOPELE
While no Loadshedding is currently being implemented in Block 3, which comprises of Ivory Park, Kaalfontein, Ebony Park and Tswelopele amongst others.
Electricity has been switched off by the power utility in large parts of Ivory Park on Friday night.
Eskom says this is to protect transformers from failing. Residents of Ebony Park, Ivory Park, Kaalfontein and Tswelopele are urged to reduce their electricity usage by switching off non-essential appliances as their transformers are overloading.
“Load rotation” will be implemented from 18:00 until 23:00 in Ivory Park, Ebony Park, Kaalfontein and Tswelopele to prevent transfomer failures and damages which could result in supply interruption, leaving customers with no electricity for prolonged periods.
It is not yet clear how this new “load rotation”works and when the electricity in Ivory Park will be restored.
KAE News will continue giving you updates as and when we receive further information from the power utility.
