The Ivory Park SAPS station commander has welcomed the swift arrest of two (2) men on Tuesday morning for a mob justice related murder in Kaalfontein.
Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander, says mob killings should never under any circumstances be tolerated as we all have an opportunity to work with the police at any given time of the day.
“The two suspects in the murder had an opportunity to call the police after they found the suspect, now deceased, stealing in their scrapyard, but opted to take the law into their own hands,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.
The two men were arrested in Kaalfontein this morning by the detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS after enough evidence pointed to them for assaulting and inciting their neighbours into assaulting the suspect to death.
This after they caught him red handed.
The two men, aged 33 and 29, will face a murder charge and will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charge.
Brigadier Ngcobo has assured the community of this area that the police are looking forward to working with them and, that in line with the safer festive season operation, there are plenty of boots on the ground, yet these boots need the community to be the eyes and ears elsewhere as the police cannot cover every corner of the precinct.
