The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS has welcomed with joy two (2) lengthy sentences for two (2) murderers by the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court. They were each given 15 years jail terms.
The two, committed two murders on separate occasions in Ivory Park in 2017 and 2022, but they were sentenced on March 30, 2023.
In 2017, Ngoako Motia, 26, fatally stabbed Warren Mashitisho, 23, on the chest and abdomen during a robbery, killing him instantly. It was this heartless act that earned Motia a 15 years jail sentence. The incident happened in Extension Three, Ivory Park.
Meanwhile Prosper Sibanda, 23 formerly of Extension Two, Ivory Park, is saddled with a 15 years jail term for the murder last year of his friend, Leaders Dube, whom he stabbed during a card game argument. During the argument, Mr Sibanda took out a knife and stabbed Dube multiple times on the neck. He went on to stab another man who tried to stop the fight. Victim died a short while later in Rabie Ridge. This happened in Ext Two, Ivory Park.
“We have witnesses to thank for the convictions. They came forward with information. when needed, thus assisting us tremendously in restoring justice for the deceased and their families,”
said Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.
Brigadier Ngcobo has called on the community to continue to support the police in their quest to maintain law and order in the Ivory Park policing precinct.
