With just two (2) weeks left until the November 22, 2024, KRN2 migration deadline, Eskom is urging customers to ensure their prepaid meters are upgraded to avoid disruptions.
The vending system is operational, but due to the high volume of customers switching to KRN2, some may face issues loading electricity tokens.
If you’re experiencing problems, visit the Alfred Eskom Chatbot at www.alfred.eskom.co.za/chatroom or punch in 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your meter to check if your meter is re-coded. It should display the number 2 if recoded successfully.
Follow Eskom’s steps to upgrade your meter and avoid any interruptions in service.
1. Step 1: Enter the Old KRN1 20-digit code from your re-code token.
2. Step 2: Enter the New KRN2 20-digit re-code token and wait for acceptance.
3. Step 3: Enter your last 20-digit sales token. Your meter should now be re-coded
If you encounter any issues during the process, contact Eskom’s Customer Services at 08600 37566 for assistance.
Don’t wait – make sure your meter is recoded by 24 November 2024 to avoid interruptions in your power supply.
