URGENT: RECERTIFY YOUR PREPAID METER BEFORE THE DEADLINE!

Consumers have just 1 day left to recode their prepaid electricity meters to KRN2 before the deadline on Sunday, 24 November 2024. Here’s how to check and recode your meter:

How to Check Your Meter:

1. Enter 1844 6744 0738 4377 2416 on your prepaid meter’s keypad.
   • If the display shows 1, your meter is still on KRN1 and needs upgrading.
   • If it shows 2, your meter is up-to-date.

Steps to Recode Your Meter:

1. Purchase an electricity voucher from an approved retailer.
2. Enter the first 20 digits of your recode token.
3. Enter the second 20 digits of your recode token.
4. Finally, enter the 20-digit token from your latest electricity purchase.

Why It’s Important:

• Meters on KRN1 will no longer accept tokens after 24 November 2024.
• Failure to upgrade means losing power and requiring a replacement costing up to R12,000.
• Avoid using unauthorized tokens; only buy from authorized vendors.
