WARD COMMITTEE SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTIONS (WARD 111)

Supplementary elections of the Ward 111 Ward Committee will be held tomorrow, 12 March 2020 at Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School from 17:30 to 20:30. The role played by ward committees is to create formal unbiased communication channels and co-operative partnerships between the municipality and the community within a ward and to ensure contact between the municipality and the community through the use and payment of services.
The process of the election will be as follows:

1. Verification and registration of voters.
2. Explanation of the voting process.
3. Call for nominations and issuing of ballots.
4. Voting process starts.
5. Counting of ballots.
6. Results verification and announcement.

The following sector will be contested: Community Development

Criteria for nominations. Nominees should be:

1. A South African citizen.
2. Above 18 years old.
3. Registered voter in Ward 111 (Ebony Park Primary School, Eqinisweni Secondary School, Umqhele Secondary School and Ponelopele Oracle Secondary School voting districts)
4. Not indebted to the municipality or must have an arrears arrangement in place)
5. Not be in the employ of the City of Johannesburg.

For verification purposes attendees must produce their IDs.
