WATER SUPPLY DISRUPTIONS IN KAE: SOME RESIDENTS FULLY RESTORED, OTHERS WITH LOWER PRESSURE OR NO WATER YET

Where are you? Do you have water yet?

Residents in the KAE area have been experiencing water supply disruptions following a recent vandalism incident that damaged a meter supplying water to the area. While some areas have had their water fully restored, others are still experiencing lower water pressure or do not have water at all.

In a statement issued on Sunday morning, Johannesburg Water reported that Rand Water’s networks have been charging since the completion of repairs, and reservoirs are on recovery. However, the low supply to various Johannesburg Water systems has resulted in minimal to no recovery, prolonging the disruptions for some residents.

Johannesburg Water is closely monitoring the infrastructure affected by the low supply. The President Park and Rabie Ridge reservoirs, which supplies our areas, are critically low. As a result, Johannesburg Water is requesting customers to reduce their water consumption until the situation stabilizes.

To provide residents with alternate water supply options, mobile tankers have been deployed to the affected areas. Johannesburg Water has assured residents that it will provide further updates until the water is fully restored. Water supply is expected to be restored during the course of the day.

Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest developments regarding the water supply situation by following reliable sources of information such as Johannesburg Water’s social media accounts or local news outlets like KAE News.
