WATER UPDATE: REPAIRS TO BE COMPLETED ON THURSDAY

Johannesburg Water has announced that Midrand Reservoirs are still under enormous strain due to the earlier reported, explosion at the Rand Water Palmiet Booster Pumping station.

The explosion has affected the Midrand area including townships of Kaalfontein, Ebony Park, Ivory Park and Rabie Ridge.

“Rand Water has been able to repair some of the electrical switch gears which has assisted to boost pumping, but it is still not at full capacity. Our bulk supplier has indicated that repairs should be completed on Thursday” said Johannes Water in a statement.

Roaming water trucks are available around KAE and have been refilled to ensure consistent supply in the interim. Water takers can be found in the below areas:
?Kaalfontein/Ebony Park
-Yarona Shopping Centre along Angelfish Road.

?Ivory park
-Kopanong Shopping Centre along Riverside Road.
-Ivory Park 2 Taxi rank along 21 September Drive.

?Mayibuye

  • Behind Mayibuye Clinic along Theresa Road.

?Rabie Ridge/Kanana
-BP Garage, Ruitekker Road.

?Klipfontein View

  • Klipfontein View Taxi Rank along Nancy Ndamase Street.

Johannesburg Water says it has also arranged for water tankers in the affected areas.
