Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mfundo Vilakazi stole the hearts of many football fans who watched the 2021 Phyllis Games.
Vilakazi turned out for Doornkop Students of Snakepark, Soweto and his team was knocked out in the semi-finals of the annual tournament by 18 Mambas FC.
However, the 15-year-old did enough to prove that he’s a real talent with a bright future ahead of himself if he remains disciplined.
After some scintillating displays that saw him create and score goals for his team at the Phyllis Games, many fans are pleading with PSL teams to sign Vilakazi.
But the truth of the matter is that Vilakazi is a Chiefs academy player who plays for their U15 and U17 teams.
Whatever happens with regards to his football future should first start with Chiefs who are nurturing him as well as his parents as he’s still a minor.
It’s also worth mentioning that Vilakazi is a full South African junior international with the country’s U17 team.
Soon after helping Doornkop Students secure their place in the semi-finals, Vilakazi received a special gift from a former Chiefs player.
Joseph Molangoane, who played for Chiefs for three seasons, was at the Phyllis Games, and he gave Vilakazi soccer boots as a symbol of appreciation for his talent.
And that gesture can only motivate Vilakazi to do better and take his football career to another level in the near future.
