YOUTH COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME LAUNCHED IN IVORY PARK

The MMC of Economic Development, Cllr Lawrence Khoza together with the Department of Economic Development launched the Youth Cooperatives Development Programme at Lord Khanyile Hall, Ivory Park on Tuesday, 16 March 2021.

The City of Johannesburg is embarking on a drive to empower Youth Cooperatives with training, compliance support and market access through cooperative development.

The programme aims to raise awareness about local cooperatives an an alternative form of enterprise model. The program is targeting youth who don’t posses sufficient skills and previous work experience.

The City will identify five hundred young people in each region to assist with procurement opportunities, compliance and training.
