NO ELECTRICITY IN PARTS OF KAE AND IVORY PARK FROM 17:00. UNANNOUNCED LOADSHEDDING.
Eskom is being dishonest about the state of the electricity in South Africa. A week before the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) marched to the power utility’s head quarters in Megawatt Park, Eskom implemented the last session of scheduled ‘loadshedding’ on Sunday, 22 March 2020.
The power utility has been switching off the electricity in some areas since the 26th of March 2020. This has been an underhand tactic to fool the public into believing that the electric supply is stable. Areas such as Diepsloot, Alexandra, Rosetenville and Eldorado Park have had their power switched off without any official announcement.
At the time of publishing, the last statement from Eskom read “no loadshedding expected for the weekend”. However, Eskom admits that “generation system remains constrained….unplanned breakdowns remain above 10 500MW mark” and that the system remains “vulnerable “ and “unpredictable.
KAE News called Eskom today and we were advised that “Eskom is not implementing loadshedding. You are experiencing a power outage”. Surprisingly, a local power outage occurs randomly and does not affect an area as large as Ebony Park, Kaalfontein and parts of Ivory Park. It is also amusing that electric is switched at 17:00 on the dot.
Last week Friday, parts of KAE and Ivory Park also experienced unannounced loadshedding during the same time. We expect the power to be restored before 22:00. No technicians have been deployed.
You are advised to switch off all appliances.
Story is still developing.
