CHARGE YOUR PHONES, LOAD REDUCTION TONIGHT
Eskom will implement load reduction this evening, 03 February 2021.
The load reduction will be implemented in parts of Kaalfontein, Ebony Park, Ivory Park, Rabie Ridge, Lindokuhle and Tswelopele. The power outage is expected to last for 5 hours from 17:00 to 22:00.
The power utility says that it implements load reduction to avoid network overloading in “high density areas”.
“During the load reduction implementation, residents are urged to switch off all their electrical appliances to avoid possible damage due to power surges when supply returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer trips or failures, and damages to household appliances when supply is restored”.
