CITY OF JOHANNESBURG OPENS MOBILE CLINIC IN KLIPFONTEIN
Yesterday the 6th of November 2019, the City of Johannesburg (CoJ) delivered a mobile clinic that will service the community of Klipfontein View, Kya Sands and surrounding areas.
This is the fourth mobile clinic in the CoJ and 6 more are set to be rolled out in surrounding areas.
As part of extending healthcare in the City. The City has resolved to roll out mobile clinic to communities that are excluded from the health care system. Extending access to healthcare is part of the city’s mandate, hence the roll out of these mobile clinics to areas and communities that were and continue to be excluded from the health system.
The R30 million project will offer the following s health services:
? HIV testing and counseling, ARV initiation, TB screening and treatment
? Mother and child treatment including EPI immunization
? Family planning, Pap smear and prostate cancer screening
? Treatment of minor alignments
Patients will be served by a capable staff of 7, which includes 2 nurses, an enrolled nursing assistant, an admin assistant, a general worker and a driver.
The mobile clinic will serve Klipfontein on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:00 to 15:00. On Wednesday and Thursday it will serve Kya Sands from 08:00 to 15:00.
