COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE SOUGHT TO SOLVE FATAL SHOOTING
The Ivory Park SAPS is asking for assistance from any member of the community regarding a murder incident on Tuesday night Ivory Park Extension Two during which a 30-year-old man was fatally shot on the chest in what looked like a road rage.
The local police were called to the scene from where they gathered that the deceased, who came out of the house when he heard an altercation between someone known to him and a stranger, was shot in the chest and died shortly afterwards in hospital.
“Initial information revealed that a taxi driver who resides at the same address as the deceased was involved in a tussle with a driver of a white Toyota Corolla.” said Ivory Park SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Bernard Matimulane.
“He was apparently opening the gate and the taxi was half way on the road. The driver of the Toyota Corolla went out of his vehicle to demand that the driver of the taxi remove his vehicle from the road. It is not known what the deceased did upon coming out but, after the shooting, the driver of the Toyota Corolla fled the scene.” Matimulane added.
“Chances are someone in the vicinity may have seen what had happened, especially because there was an argument before the shooting took place. We will appreciate any bit of information from the public,” said Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.
Any information brought to the police will be treated confidentially and the informant can remain anonymous if they so wish. Information can be brought to the Ivory Park SAPS on 011 990 9600 or Crime Stop number at 08600 10111
