IVORY PARK IS NOT A HIDEOUT FOR CRIMINALS SAYS ACTING STATION COMMANDER

Four men appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on the 12th of March 2021 following their arrest in Ivory Park’s Extension Two for possession of robbed goods. The property they were found in possession of was allegedly robbed earlier last week Thursday from a courier company vehicle in Johannesburg.

“The four suspects, whose ages range from 29 to 44, were arrested by the Gauteng Highway Patrol at Extension two after they were found offloading the items at an address in the area. While on their routine duties, the officers received information that a blue Kombi was seen offloading the properties. On their arrival the officers found the men busy. One of the suspects managed to flee the scene. Among some of the items found were eight different makes of cell phones, shoes and t shirts. They were shortly identified as some of the items taken during the robbery in Johannesburg by a group of men travelling in two vehicles.” According to the Ivory Park SAPS spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane.

The Kombi used to offload was also confiscated. The hunt for the other suspects is underway, and the four have appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court to face charges of possession of robbed goods.

The acting station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Colonel Baba Mpotoane, has welcomed this arrest, and is fully confident that his detectives will successfully hunt and find some of the outstanding suspects. “This arrest should serve as a warning to other Ivory Park based criminals that this place is not a hideout place for criminals and criminal activity. The long arm of the law will always catch up with them, like it did with this four” said Colonel Mpotoane.
