MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER OF 7 YEAR OLD GIRL

It is alleged that on Thursday 11 March 2021 at approximately 11:30 a 7 year-old baby girl went missing from her residential place at Kanana after her mother left her sleeping as she went to the shops.

When she came back she found her daughter named Samkelo Mokhele not around. The complainant proceeded to her ex boyfriend’s place at Kanana Ext 5 and he was also not found.

While looking around she managed to ask around his ex’s neighbours. The neighbours told her that the child was last seen with her ex boyfriend at around 12:00. The complaint proceeded to Rabie Ridge SAPS to open a case of MISSING PERSON.

The missing person enquiry was completed and a preliminary investigation was conducted upon searching the place they discovered the body of the missing child in the ex boyfriend’s wardrobe however the suspect was not found.

According to the Rabie Ridge SAPS Acting Spokesperson, Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi: “In the following morning on Friday the Vispol Commander Lt Colonel Mashalane and other members went for a search and the suspect was arrested in a hiding place. The knife with blood was also found on his possession.”

The suspect is in custody at the Rabie Ridge Police Station.

Baby Samkelo will be buried tomorrow the 18th of March 2021. Our deepest condolences go out to the family.
