IVORY PARK MAN FOUND IN POSSESSION OF WADS OF STAINED CASH
Ivory Park SAPS detectives arrested a 34 year old man for alleged possession of stained money on Thursday night, 21 April 2022.
“The detectives received information via their informant networks that the foreign national was in possession of lots of stained money. Upon arrival at the suspect’s place the officers introduced themselves to the suspect and the reason for their visit” said Captain Ben Matimulane the spokesperson of Ivory Park SAPS,.
The money totalling R28,000.00 (twenty eight thousand rand) all of which is inked, was found. When asked about the origins of the money the suspect failed to say.
“Suspicion is that the money may have been obtained during a cash in transit incident or during an ATM bombing. The suspect’s silence as to the origin of the money lends credence to either of the two possibilities.” said Matimulane.
He has been detained in the Ivory Park cells pending his appearance in court soon where he will be facing a charge of possession of suspected stolen property. The money is now in police storage.
The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has appreciated the informants responsible for tipping off the police about this man and his alleged loot.
“We needs plenty of these tip offs to make Ivory Park policing precinct safer for the law abiding people and uncomfortable for the criminal elements,” said Brigadier Ngcobo
