IVORY PARK TAXIS NOT ON STRIKE

Ivory Park Taxi Association (IPTA) taxis will not participate in the “national taxi strike” organized by the National Taxi Alliance. The National Taxi Alliance (NTA) is a South African Group body of affiliated independent taxi associations.

IPTA is not a member of NTA. IPTA is a member of the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO ) in Gauteng Province.The Chairperson of IPTA and Chairperson of SANTACO in Gauteng is Buti Johannes Mkhonza.

SANTACO Gauteng has confirmed that all taxis will be operating as normal today, 18 November 2020. All taxis operating in Ivory Park and neighboring areas will be operating as normal including taxis from the Rabie Ridge Taxi Association (RRTA).

KAE News understands that NTA affiliated taxis will be embarking on a protest action to the office of the Minister of Transport and that of the President in Pretoria to deliver grievances.

Update: Unverified reports that taxis from Ivory Park to Pretoria will not be operating.
