JOZI, MEET YOUR NEW MMCs!

The African National Congress (ANC) has reclaimed the City of Johannesburg after the DA’s Herman Mashaba’s resignation. After a Council sitting this week to vote for the new Executive Mayor, Geoff Makhubo, who is also the Regional Chairperson of the ANC was elected.

The ANC has returned the favor to the smaller parties in council for voting for their candidate by deploying their members.

The Executive Mayor of the City of Johannesburg Cllr Geoff Makhubo announced his Mayoral Committee (MMCs) today the 7th of December 2019 as follows:

1. Finance: Jolidee Matongo

2. Health & Social Development MMC: Eunice Mgcina

3. Environmental, Infrastructure Services: Mpho Moerane

4. Corporate and Shared Services: Loyiso Masuku

5. Public Safety: Mally Mokoena

6. Economic Development: Lloyd Philips (PA)

7. Community Development: Margret Arnold’s (AIC)

8. Development Planning: Jay Maharaj (COPE)

9. Transport: Nonhlanhla Makhuba (IFP)

10. Housing: Mlungisi Mabaso (IFP)
