Level 3 restrictions announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday allow City Libraries to be opened.

Our libraries: Ivory Park Library at Lord Khanyile, Ivory Park North Library, Rabie Ridge Library and Halfway House Library will reopen from today, 28 July 2021.

The Libraries will open between the hours of 09:00 until 16:00 from Monday to Friday for the following purposes:

⁃ To borrow and return library books.

⁃ To Study

⁃ For reference service through telephonic enquiries.

⁃ To access Wi-Fi within library parameters following strict physical distance protocols.

The use of in-house library books, Libra computers and photocopy services are not permitted.

City of Joburg’s Library and Information Services Management advises that full library services will be reinstated only when the identified challenges associated with COVID-19 risks are resolved and the risk of infections is reduced.

Should there be any water problems or COVID-19 challenges where libraries are situated, the libraries will be closed at short notice.

Remember to wear your mask and practice social distancing if visiting the library.
