Two (2) alleged community patrollers have appeared before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Thursday in connection with a murder incident in which a 36 years old man was assaulted and eventually succumbed to his injuries.

“The two men, aged 35 and 53, are alleged to have attacked the man about 6 days ago. It is not yet known what criminal accusations was the man being accused of. That, and any other information, will clearly be revealed in court as soon as the trial gets underway” said Captain Ben Matimulane the Spokesperson of the Ivory Park SAPS.

“Murder related detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS got down to investigating the incident and, through a network of informants, managed to identify the suspects and had them in police custody to come and for account for their alleged actions.” Matimulane added.

The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has welcomed the duo’s arrest.

“Mob related murders and assaults will never be tolerated regardless of what the justification is. The genuine community patrollers know how to conduct themselves,” said Brigadier Ngcobo.

The two murder suspects are part of the nine suspects arrested by the Ivory Park SAPS detectives in the past 48 hours for a range of offences, ranging from murder to malicious damage to property, assaults and domestic violence.
