MAJOR WATER SHUTDOWN IN KAE TOMORROW

Johannesburg Water advises residents of Greater Midrand of the major water shutdown from tomorrow night Tuesday 05 May 2020 at 22:00 until Wednesday 06 May 2020 at 19:00.

JW says “This necessary repair needs to be finalised in order to continue to provide sustainable water service to all.” The Johannesburg Water team will be repairing a leak on Republic Road and the planned shutdown will affect more than 40 000 houses in KAE (Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park, Allandale), Ivory Park, President Park, Glen Austin and Austin View.

This comes after the areas had an emergency water shutdown last week. Scores of residents were stranded as the water was shutdown on the 24th of April 2020. Households had no water and people could be seen queueing for water amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents are encouraged to save water in anticipation for the shutdown and continue to wash hands and minimise the spread of the coronavirus. 14 roaming trucks will be deployed during the water outage.
