MIDRAND DRIVER ARRESTED
The 36-year-old driver of an Audi TT, captured on video, has been arrested for driving at 300km/h on a 120km/h zone . The speedster, from Midrand, was tracked down at a funeral in Limpopo.
The video of the car clocking more than 300km/h on N1 Southbound in Midrand went viral on social media. The driver faces charges of reckless and negligent driving as well as related charges in terms of the National Road Traffic Act.
Officials from the Road Traffic Management Corporation used various investigative techniques to identify , locate and arrest the suspect. The Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula has welcomed the arrest.
