SUSPECTS DRESSED IN METRO POLICE UNIFORM ARRESTED

The Olifantsfontein Road was jam packed with traffic earlier this evening of the 24th of January 2020.

Three (3) suspects were arrested by the Johannesburg Flying Squad South Africa Police Service (SAPS) officers. This comes after the suspects crashed into another car on a high speed chase. The Flying Squad chased the suspicious vehicle at Olifantsfontein Road.

The suspects were arrested at the “Clayville T junction” on the Corners of Republic Road and Olifantsfontein Road.

Two (2) suspects were dressed in Ekurhuleni Metropolitan the Department (EMPD) uniform.

Police confiscated 2 unlicensed firearms and a victim of a hijacked truck was rescued. Allegedly, the victim was hijacked while transporting a load of betroots and carrots in Brits.

The suspects are under police custody and traffic has been cleared.
